About me
Hi, I am Søren ([ˈsɶːʌn]), currently a Ph.D. student with the Department of Computer Science, at Sri Venkateswara University (SVU Tirupati), under the guidance of Prof. Padmavathamma Mokkala. Prior to this, I completed my bachelors and masters, both at Aalborg University, Esbjerg, worked 10 years in industry, and 3 years at a research lab also at Aalborg University.
Most people ask me: "What is your native place, and what are you doing here?" So: 1) My native place is Jelling in Denmark; and 2) I married a cute girl from Nellore, myself and our kids must learn the Indian culture. Working towards my Ph.D. while doing that is a great adventure.
Interests
My research interests are soft computing methods and machine learning. More specifically, I am working with fuzzy-random methods in constructing classifiers (for ensembles and feature selection), and the combination of knowledge and data-driven methods. In my research group, the application area is health care.
Outside research, I enjoy reading sci-fi and history books, relaxing and playing in nature, and hope that I find a good and affordable digital piano out here. However, most of the time I spend time playing with my two boys (born and ), they really take a lot of time.
